The Region

The region is paradise for those who love skiing in the winter and for those who enjoy the outdoors and the sunshine in the summer. Below are a list of just some of things that you can do with your time here – of course, for those of you who want to sit back and relax you don’t need to do anything!

Although this region is world famous for its winter sports it is often overlooked when it is at its most beautiful, during the spring and summer months. There is a feeling of space away from the crowds that will appeal to anyone who wants to get away from it all and explore the mountains. Although the area has an abundance of activities it also appeals to those who wish to do nothing at all except relax.

During July and August the ski lifts are open giving access to the more remote areas which opens up this extensive alpine region. The many festivals and events will add to the experience and the Bastille Day celebrations and fireworks are celebrated in each town - this is a spectacular event with an excellent community spirit and one that is highly recommeded.
