Along the shores of Lac Leman (Lake Geneva)
Yvoires, Thonon les Bains & Evian
The mediaeval village of Yvoires rests on the shores of Lac Leman (Geneva) offering a beautiful setting for streetside cafes, kitsch boutiques, craft shops, local producers, and boat trips along the lake and into neighbouring Switzerland. Lausanne is on the far side of the lake and offers excellent shopping and cuisine.
Thonon les Bains is ideal for those who enjoy a lakeside walk along the promenade and the marina hosting splendid yachts. For those who enjoy watersports you can hire boats, kayaks, swim in the outdoor swimming pool and diving platforms into the crystal clear waters. There is also a diving school. Extensive green spaces alongside the lake offer beautiful settings for picnics. It is also a spa town with various beauty, massage and hydrotherapy packages available to pamper, relax and invigorate.
Originally and most famously known for its mineral water, Evian is a delightful place to visit in the summer. This town is ideal for shopping in the many backstreets and along the lake shore where there are swimming pools and plenty of ice cream stands and outdoor restaurants. This is an excellent place for anyone wishing to experience the health giving thermal baths and spa facilities.

The 'old town' is a perfect backdrop for lakeside cuisine in the many restaurants or take a boatride on one of the floating restaurants and dine with a difference.
